Olive growing is a long lasting tradition in Montenegro. The second half of the 20th century has witnessed the neglect of the large number of olive groves, but in recent years, they have been repaired. There is an old saying that goes like this: vine is like a mistress – you have to pamper and cuddle it every day, otherwise it will leave, but olive tree is like a mother – no matter how much you neglect it, leave it, whenever you come back, it will wait for you with its arms wide open, give you some fruit and shade.
