Ćorović family lives in the village called Štitari, located between Berane and Bijelo Polje. Rajo, Dijana and Dalibor are constant members of the household and, occasionally, Velimir, son, visits them with his family. Rajo and Dalibor will teach you everything about beekeeping, they will show you how to live in tune with nature, they will give you more information about the culture and tradition of the north of Montenegro. Dijana is there to teach you how to make traditional dishes and treats, how to prepare winter stores, homemade liqueurs and juices. This is a family that knows what work really is, how good is to live in a village and do these jobs.
Decades-old family tradition is beekeeping. This skill has been improved over years into organic beekeeping, they have certificates to prove this and lab product analyses as well. There are several products that you can buy here, such as honey, royal jelly, propolis drops, honeydew, pollen, wax, natural cosmetic and soaps based on honey, bee wax, unrefined oils, as well as homemade cheese and brandy. There’s a 70 – hectare orchard situated on the farm (apples, pears, plums) and we offer all types of fresh fruit, compotes, juices, and a garden with corn, potato, peppers, beans and so on. Guest can take part, if he or she wishes, in all the jobs within the household, depending on the season.
Štitari village is a vivid place, hidden within the valley of the river Lim. A drinking water spring is situated close to the house. Some 500 m away from the household, you come upon a monument to the fallen soldiers from the Balkans wars and WW2. The river Lim is also close by, you can take a stroll there, go fishing, swim, go on a boat ride, raft. There are two religious buildings here too, a church and a mosque. Tivran, a well-known canyon and gorge, is 3 to 4 kilometers away from the household and some 15 km away, you can find Šiško Lake, Bjelasica Mountain, Plavac. You can enjoy a day tour or a several- day excursion, while here.
