Babović family lives in the village Konjuhe, municipality of Andrijevica, north-east part of Montenegro. There are three generations living in the household, grandma Danica, her son, the host, Radovan with his wife Ivana and their four children. The basic activity of this family is fruit growing but they are also into cropping and gardening.
The basic activity of Babović family is fruit production. They are certified organic fruit producers. The fruit is then used for juices and jams production, and if you happen to visit at the right time, you can take part in these activities yourselves. They have also got a garden where they grow vegetables for themselves and for their guests.
The old house of Babović family is situated in the village Konjuhe, in the hamlet Dulopolje. This place has always been known as Miljanov Do and it is famous for many things – the view to the mountain Komovi cannot be described in words, the mornings are hushed, only the bell signifying that cattle moved to pastures can be heard, and the buzzing of bees from the nearby orchard and meadow flowers… And the house, built more than 60 years ago, tells the story of ages gone. Tucked in an indescribable beauty, it offers a unique experience which can be lived only in the villages of this region.
This unforgettable experience will be contributed by the hosts, Ivana and her family. You will try some homemade dishes – pies, kačamak, kajmak (clotted cream), nettle, yogurt, juices, jams and many more. Ivana’s family is into agriculture – they grow most of the fruit and vegetables at their farm and Ivana collects tea herbs, mushrooms, blueberries, forest raspberries and blackberries along the slopes of nearby mountains during the season, you are welcome to join her in these adventures. And if some of the close by trails get your attention, you can always go on a hiking or biking tour.
