Dubak family lives in Crni Vrh village, some 10 km away from Berane. Dubak’s are Momčilo and Vasilija with their son Svetozar, who has come up with the idea of working in rural tourism industry. They often have guests, too and Svetozar’s sister visits them frequently with her children. Dubak’s family tradition is husbandry. Momčilo is the owner of 80 sheep and 5 cows and he takes them to katun Šiška every May. Svetozar has decided to keep on his ancestors’ tradition and joined his parents in working with cattle.
Dubak family is primarily into husbandry, but they’ve also got a garden in the village and a large orchard. They grow fruit and vegetables for the family and their guests. They make jams, juices and preserve from fruit, and Svetozar uses it to make brandy. If you visit the household at the right period, you can take part in these activities.
Dubak household is situated within the National Park Biogradska Gora, on Šiškakatun, several minutes of walk from two beautiful lakes, big Šiško and Ševarinsko. Several hours away from the household, some natural attractions of Bjelasica are located, such as three lakes, Biogradsko, Ursulovačko and Pešića, then the highest peak of Bjelasica, called Crna Glava (Black Head), 2,139 MAMSL. A large number of national and local mountain and biking trails pass next to Dubak log cabin.
